Bird Beak Activity
How do birds use their beaks if they don't have teeth? Which beak is the easiest to use? Find out by playing this fun game!
Materials you will need:
Hair Clip, representing a thin long beak, which is designed to stab fish. Example of birds with such beaks: herons, terns, & egrets.
Tweezers, representing a thin, slender pointed beak, used for insect eaters. Bird such as warblers have thin beaks.
The “beak“ that is capable of gathering the most foods would survive longer than others that can not. This activity will give you a sense as if you were a real bird looking for nourishment.

Jingle shells have thin, translucent shell halves that look like frosted nail polish. Found all year in shallow waters, beaches, and oyster beds along the coast from Nova Scotia all the way down to Brazil. Jingle shells get their name from the sound they make when they clump together. People who come to the beach use them to make necklaces.
The red color of the seaweed is due to the large amount of red phycoerythrin pigments overriding the green pigment chlorophyll. The pigments have a purpose, enabling the seaweed to photosynthesize light from a specific part of the light spectrum. It is also used for treating diseases and is capable of boosting your immune system.
