It's Great Work to be a WildfLife Guard!
New and returning high school students and crew leaders of the Bridgeport WildLife Guards Program participated in different activities throughout Connecticut. Their main focus this summer was the re-opening of Pleasure Beach, where they taught the public about the nesting birds, wildlife and the history of the site.
The story continues with a second summer!

History in the making!
A Community came together to make a difference!
Pleasure Beach Park, a place where memories are made! This past summer, the City of Bridgeport added a playground at the park's waterfront pavilion. Many people, including the public worked continuously over the summer on coastal conservation efforts.
The Bridgeport WildLife Guard program started this past fall. The SCA in collaboration with Audubon brought on one new crew leader and four new members for the Summer Crew. Our photo gallery displays the adventures the crew endeavored throughout the summer. The crew completed several strenuous hikes out to Pleasure Beach (over four miles hiking along the beach), traveled to Connecticut’s finest museums, and had a once in a lifetime experience at the Capital in Hartford, CT. Check out our blog to find out more about the WLG program and how you can get involved!

It has been such a great summer here on Pleasure Beach. The public has been loving the touch tank activities and are enjoying learning about our coastal birds.
